OlyMEGA, an Olympia, WA area maker group, is having the first of a series of free classes in using Eagle schematic capture and PCB making software.
http://meetup.olymega.org/events/46673862/http://olymega.org/workshops5:45pm tonight at the Old Olympia Firehouse, 108 State Avenue, Olympia, WA. The class itself will not start 'til after 6pm. The door locks at 6pm, feel free to call me at 253-318-2473 and we'll let you in. Your GPS will probably tell you it is one block East of where it really is, the address is on the window. Parking is free after 5:30pm.
Bring a laptop with Eagle free version installed, and an idea that you want to make a PCB for. You can probably get something out of it without bringing a computer, but you'll get a lot more out of it with one. Eagle is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac. Note that although the instructor calls for V5.x, only V6 seems to be available now from the CADSoft website.
http://www.cadsoftusa.com/downloads/?language=en Dave, if you could pass this on to Mr. Neuman (sp?), I'd appreciate it.
There will be more classes, I don't know if they'll be weekly or bi-weekly. Eventually we'll etch some boards.
