Steve didn't claim to own the internet, and hyperbole like that doesn't help.

Steve OWNS THIS LIST. And if he says it's going to stay narrowly on topic, I FULLY and COMPLETELY support his right to say it and enforce it even if that means his kicking people off the list. I wouldn't run it that way, but I'M NOT the list OWNER, so it ISN'T MY PLACE TO COMPLAIN.

Anyone who doesn't like it is welcome to start their own list and do the thankless work of deleting spam, moderating jerks who don't appreciate a well run list, and generally spending their own time making things run instead of telling other people how they should be running things.

Sorry if I sound pissed off... I'm having a flashback to my days of running email lists and dealing with punks who like to complain but not do any of the work.
