cboy2us,
I had the problem of porous toner with a HP laserjet 1320. The printer came with a toolbox that allowed a setting of print density, but HP did not upgrade the software for Vista and the drivers do not allow this setting.
Pulsar has a tip on their web site for setting toner density with this link
http://victechsoftware.com/ljconfig.htmlMy printer is not listed under those supported. However, it seems to work ok. The default setting is 3, but I can jack it up to 5.
Also, I use Pulsar GreenTRF foil to seal the transferred toner.
These two fixes cured my porous toner problem.
