"Pins" equals legs on a component. Resistor and capacitors have 2,etc.
Rather than set a limit on the physical size of the board for the free
version (like EAGLE). DIPTRACE uses the total number of "pins".
You can get a free upgrade to 500 pins by sending an email to
support@... and say you saw the offer here.
Note: these "free" versions are for non-commercial use only.You can
purchase licenses for other versions with up to unlimited number of pins on
the DipTrace website. Look at the order page ont eh website,www.diptrace.com
