Subject: Cleaning copper (again!)

Hi - new to this group, so "Hello"!
Anyway, I've been using acetone to do the final clean of my copper
before ironing (scrub with abrasive rubber, scrub with Scotchbrite,
rinse, acetone & lint-free paper towel, iron/GBC, etch (hot sodium
persulphate), acetone clean).
The acetone I'm using is lab-grade, 99.something% and definitely not
nail-varnish remover etc.
I was wondering is Methylated Spirits (as we call it in the UK) would
be a better or easier degreaser - it's certainly cheaper and more
readily available... or propan-2-ol, aka isopropyl alcohol or ipa?
IPA is nasty stuff and can lead to blinding headaches if used in a
confined space with poor ventilation...
Thanks
Nick
