I can't really tell you about the 6L specifically, but I can tell you
that I bought an HP LJ 4 and then a Verbatim brand remanufactured toner
cartridge which left lines on the print. I returned it and got another
one which worked perfectly. I didn't know if it was the printer or the
toner but it turns out I was right.
