Not all that sure about how much work it is to modify. Like I said,
that "Something" blocking the path could be "nothing" much too. It
could just be more of that ink pad stuff to soak up the ink to keep
the money flowing ;-)
The back area of the plastic could easily be cut through so that
isn't a "big deal". But won't know till I dig deeper into it.
