This was the problem I had with many of the irons I tried. I finally
found one at K-Mart 'White Westinghouse Adjustable Steam Iron', the
cheapest model they had at about $8. It has a very flat shoe, with
small steam holes. I used this iron with press'n'peel for a long time
(still had dropouts, but not /nearly/ as much). We no longer have
K-Mart here (Sears Essentials took it over), so I don't know if they
still carry this one. You also have to make sure the surface you're
ironing on is very flat as well, I used to use a thick sheet of brass
on top of as flat a board as I could find. However, ever since I
started using a laminator, I'd never go back to the iron. The Creative
9" laminator is only $50 at Staples, compared to GBC's other 9"
laminator at $129, this is a steal. It was on sale for $40 last week,
will likely go on sale again in a month or so.
