Interesting. So the idea is to cut the copper and apply to a bare
fiberglass board?
I've used a vinyl sign cutter and used the vinyl as the resist. See
samples in the Files section. However, small traces are very difficult
to weed. It may or may not be easier with copper.
When you cut the vinyl, the adhesive flows together behind the blade.
Then when weeding, the vinyl tends to lift thin pieces and stretch
them out or snap them. Copper being stiffer, it may not be as much of
an issue but imagine having to weed all the holes on a board with a
few 28 and 40 pin ICs.
