Hello, my CS50 has been putting out a scratchy, gradually fading tone. It normally starts off strong and clear and then devolves after a minute or, losing volume and becoming distorted. Anybody have a similar experience, and any ideas on how to fix it? thanks, CS

i had a similar experience on my 80. it wouldnt fade, but i g0t random distortion in addition to the synth output. kent suggested a bad cap or cold solder contact on the PRA board.
i recapped this board(and found a backwards cap!), cleaned the volume pot, jack, hi/low switch, and reflowed solder on all the contact wires. i cant tell yet if its fully solved it, as i just did this last night. when i 1st turned it on, i got a little scratchy-ness.

hey, i can definitely say that the recap of the PRA board(cleaning of the hi-low switch and output pots probably didnt hurt, but didnt fix it the first time) solved this problem for me. hope this helps you...
