A stand for a CS-80

A stand for a CS-80

2007-03-05 by georgesporopat

Hello,

Could anyone give me an advice, please?
I bought my CS80 without the original stand.
I use a single X heavy duty to support my CS.
But when I play it's not so steady, it's easy to shake.
What stand could I use and where to buy.

In advance thanks.

Hi,

Take a look at the Quiklok Z stand. This works for me no problem.

Salut Georges,

other than the Quiklok Kent recommended, you might want to check out a German firm called Ruka. They make keyboard stands and accessories for entertainers and such. They have a stand aimed primarily at users of heavy digital pianos, it´s not an X-frame but it looks like a small table. According to their brochures it can carry weights up to 120 kg which seems ideally suited for a CS80. I have no exact model number but it looks like the K&M Ruka 18880 model but it´s not made from aluminium. Check the website of thomann.de, they should carry these products.

Kind regards,

Stephen.

There's also this stand which, although I don't personally own it, I
have used it one time and was impressed by it's solid nature. Rated at
395 lbs so definitely in the CS-80 league. Right now on sale for US$60.

Hey All....
Remember those old roll around computer racks being tossed out of
offices back in the ninetys???? Thats what I use......
It used to have a rackmount box underneath but I got rid of that.....
the 2 legs are 24 inches apart with a solid U shape cross member holding
the legs apart ... the legs are cast metal and look like an Off center
Capital I....the Foot and top of this I is 24 inches deep....
On stage this one unit rolls, with my CS80, VK7, and Alesis Quadra 76
note on top, and my sub rack hangs off the cross piece underneath......
lets look for a

Hey - you did the same thing I did on a couple of CS80s: cutting the top cover in half so you can stack other keyboards on top. Works great, and with a couple of slip-hinges and hasps, still works as a cover. And, you can get to all the CS80 knobs.

Anyone else do this mod?

Wow, David, you woke me up! I glanced at that picture so briefly I didn't notice the lid was on there. I noticed Slammah has one or two caster wheel recepticals missing. Actually I'm missing the wheels as well. There's a hole on one corner where the receptical would go on mine. It worries me sometimes, 'cause a friend of mine had his in storage and he had the same missing bits, and mice got in there and had a feast on all the colored wiring. Talk about repair headache! I don't how some people could bear to part with this beast. Well, I'm one to talk, mine's 155 miles away.

Thanks to all people for their answers.
I feel the most proper (but expensive) stand for a C80 now,
seems to be the Quicklok Z71. 88 cm large, and the width
is exactly the base width of the CS.

Georges.

Thats ok Max.....with the way the Dollar is falling and house prices are
soaring....any money I have now will be worthless in the future unless I
spend it now on Audio gear.......(is there a GX1 for grocery program in

soaring....any money I have now will be worthless in the future unless I
spend it now on Audio gear.......(is there a GX1 for grocery program in

The reasons you "turned poor" in the future may be telling me before
hand you won the lottery and allowing me the time to determine how
much my CS80 was worth in Max dollars.......

Georges
Are you going to use the CS in your studio only? I'd suggest a simple four legs wooden table where you could modify the height of the legs by...cutting them off ;-)

  Hello,

Could anyone give me an advice, please?
I bought my CS80 without the original stand.
I use a single X heavy duty to support my CS.
But when I play it's not so steady, it's easy to shake.
What stand could I use and where to buy.

  In advance thanks.
