Yamaha CS80

Nice idea I think; I mentioned this briefly last November but
didn't get any responses.

I don't think a photo will work - easy to do but you'll either
be too far away to see the details, or you'll lose perspective
by being at an angle to different keyboard sections, or you'll
need the hassle of multiple photos...

Here's an easy text method I use.  The idea is to denote the
slider settings relative to the tick marks, for instance the 
"SPEED" one below (leftmost slider per custom patch) means 
about 6 tenths of the way from the 3rd to 4th tick mark.

SPEED   3ticks + 60%
PWM     5      + 0%
PW      3      + 50%

SQUARE  [ON]
SAW     [OFF]

NOISE   0ticks + 0% (i.e. "OFF")

This is even easier for modified presets, as you don't have to
go through 24 sliders per patch.

Note that the global controllers are harder to estimate closely.
I denote those as like
RESONANCE  45% (meaning a little less than halfway "down").

The dials I denote as times on the clock... chorus depth 2:15,
speed 10:30, etc.

I think a simple text format is easier than editing a graphical
template in some painting application.  No method is trivial
that's for sure, when you're talking about several dozen readings
per custom patch.
