My vote for a CS-80 substitute goes to two CS-50s. You can play them together in unison with different settings and get *a lot* of the CS-80 sound. Yes the CS-70M does have the dual channel structure, and more sophisticated LFOs, but where I think it falls down is in the filtering. The CS-70M only provides a single (multi-mode) filter per channel voice, whereas the CS-50, CS-60 and CS-80 all share that resonant high pass into low pass structure which I think is responsible for *a lot* of the polyphonic CS sound.
