More expoundings... (is that a word?)
When you insert a plug into a sub jack, only the DRY signal is removed
from the mains. The WET signal will still be present at the mains, but
the send amount can be set to 0% for that send to prevent this.
synth --> send% --> FX --(wet)-> main

\--> if(plugInSub) -(dry)-> sub
else -(dry)-> main
Okay, that little ascii drawing probably made it worse, but in the
manual there's a diagram...
