That's because you're probably using just a normal 1/4" cord right, not a
TRS one? The normal one can only "hear" one channel, L or R depending on
how far it's pushed into the jack. To hear both from only the one output,
you'd need to get a stereo cable, or an "Insert y" cable. Why not just
use two cables, one for each output? Much easier....
