Re: [xl7] a few more questions and request for opinions

I have listened to the mp3s on the emu site but still I am wondering: are
the drum sets similar on both machines?

>>>There may be some overlap in a few of the base samples, but I think
they are quite different. <<<

For preset loops, can you edit these and change the loops?

>>>The XX-7's don't really have loops per se, just midi sequences that
trigger individual notes. You can of course edit these sequences and the
presets they address. <<<

Can you change paramaters on the drum samples themselves, like start
point, attack, etc?

>>>Not on every single drum hit, but you can make these types of changes
to the drum presets. <<<

And seeing the hundreds of drum samples available, does anyone know what
the difference is with the new machine that is coming out?

>>>We don't have ny information on the new box other than it will be
identical to the current XX-7's, but with a new Drum ROM. <<<

Is one machine better than the other for getting lots of analog sounds?

>>>No. <<<

Are the few pianos and strings pretty much the same on both machines?

>>>I've heard the MP-7 doesn't have a good piano, I don't remember seeing
one in the XL-7 either. I bought the P2500 ROM and the piano in there is
quiet nice for a ROMpler. <<
