Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Jesus I feel stoopid asking this question. I did read the manual 
(10X) and the FAQ, but I can seem to get my head around it. I want to 
make the "dummy patch" for realtime effects control. Lets just say 
channel 16A. I switch the Effects section to "Preset on channel #16A" 
I create a User Preset with the EFX A & B that I like. How does this 
allow me to send different channels different amounts of the effect 
in real time. Do I need to setup different patchcords for the sends?

Also I have my SP808 sampler being controlled by the MP-7 on channel 
8. How can I set up multiple tracks that also transmit on MIDI 
channel 8.
