on the XL-7, the Preset on Channel 1A will show that it's dirtied.  Makes 
sense with what you say, since the Knobs default to Quick Edit mode on 
that channel upon power up.  No idea what's causing it, but I don't think 
it has anything to do with his issue (I could be wrong though).

Are you sure it's your Pattern getting dirtied, and not the Preset?>>>>>>>>>>


     Sorry, yes it is the Preset that gets dirtied, that's why I thought it might be the problem
that was posted earlier.  If the guitar patch is on channel 1 (or the active channel on the
screen) and the beast is in Quick Edit, this might point to the problem that I mentioned.

     It seems to happen to me within minutes of powering up the beast, and only on the active
channel (by default, channel 1).  Perhaps something about the machine warming up?  It never
happens more often than that.
