Hehehe, no need to be scared!  Yeah, just start diving into the Preset 
Edit menu and play aorund there for a bit until you get start to get a 
feel for what everything does.  You can also go here:

and read a whole bunch of articles on the basics of subtractive synthesis. 
 That will help you to know what all the Preset parameters do.  Making 
your own sounds isn't really that hard, and I guarantee you won't find 
youself dishing out money for new ROMs so quickly once you get the hang of

Awww, now im scared. i dont know the first thing about it. So what do 
you do? just add waveforms and filters until your happy with the 
outcome?
