This can be done because it is a general controller available in the patch cord setup. But keep in mind it is hard-wired to control pitchbend. There is a work-around though. The degree of pitch modulation is controlled by a per layer setting in the EDIT-PRESET BEND menu, PITCHBEND RANGE. This can be set to any value form zero (no effect) to an octave up and down. The setting is done in semitone increments.
