Re: [xl7] Uses of the MP-7

2002-11-13 by David Jones

You really like to try to cut me down. And I think it's hilarious...

I prefer many Roland products, however the grooveboxes are not real great,
once again (this may be hard for you to understand), in my opinion. I love
their synths, but again, every product has the same damn xv/jv chip in it
with those damn annoying "jazz scat" presets. I am good friends with a
Roland rep, and I think they are a GREAT company that backs up their
products VERY well. But I also think there are a lot of better things to
get than the Roland MC-505. We'll see in the near future if 909 is worth
the 1500 bones it's going to cost you... I PERSONALLY (this statement may
not apply to you, Ravi) would not be able to dedicate my music to a machine
that has 64 voice polyphony. Maybe that's fine for House, and all that
stuff, but my music requires a few more voices -- now don't start thinking I
am trying to diss house music, because I love it! ;)

I will be attending a clinic for the 909 actually in about a week. I'm
quite interested to see what it's about. But I am pretty positive that it's
not something that I'm not already getting in my current setup.

So just chill it, Ravi Ivan Sharma, and let everyone live humbly with their
opinions... Got it?
