First of all, make sure you turn off the MIDI thru (in MIDI Menu) for the MIDI Thru port going to the QSR-8 , or else you'll get a MIDI feedback loop. Next, are you wanting to use only one channel on the XL-7 to control the QSR? If so, set that channel to EXT, and you can then insert the right program changes into the the beginning of each pattern (at tick 0) so that when you call up the pattern, it will switch the preset on your QSR. rEalm wassup realm, I have a problem, I have an ASR-X PRO that I used to sequence to before I got my xl-7. My ASR used to control the preset selection on my other modules(Alesis dm-pro, QSR-8). I had no complaints about that part. Know my XL-7 is the master sequencer/clock. I can slave my modules but cant change my presets. What I want to do is sequence my patterns on the xl-7, occasionally use my QSR_8 keyboard to record note info to the xl-7, and slave my asr-x for sampling and dm-pro for drums. I need to be able to recall all my presets as well as select them from my xl-7 when I load up my saved pattern. My ASR-X PRO had a dedicated midi preset window that allowed me to do this but I cant find such a screen in the xl. Right now I have my midi A out to my asr-x in, thru to my dm-pro in, thru to my QSR-8 out back to my xl-7 ending the midi chain. Need some insight anyone!!!!!
