OR - it would be nice that if a preset were already
used in a pattern, and you try to save over it it would warn you. just a
thought

Hehe, yeah but a lockable Preset would still be safer, if harder to implement. It would be handy for those days when you're doing tons of sound design and NEED to be using the knobs.

If you turn QuickEdit off, the knobs will no longer edit the preset,
only the current sound of it. Since the preset never gets edited, it
shouldn't force you to save it...
