XL-7 with Pure Phatt board, want to load MP-7 patterns

2001-09-23 by jiraicracher@hotmail.com

Many thanks to E-mu for making available the XL-1 banks available
for loading with the XL-7 ID.

I have an XL-7, but not an MP-7 - purple just ain't my color. I have
added the Pure Phatt board to my XL-7.

I noticed that one of the supplied CD-ROMs has the presets, songs
and patterns from the MP-7. What I would like to have configured on
my XL-7 is everything (presets, songs, patterns) from both the XL-7
and MP-7 all on one box.

My question is whether the Pure Phatt board is a ROM or a Flash SIMM
that I could re-write the name from PHATT to MP-7 (and if so, what
is the unique ID number for the MP-7)? Presumably the data from the
supplied CD-ROM could then be loaded for use with the renamed MP-7
board.

Or is there an easier way of accomplishing this? Can E-mu supply the
MP-7 presets, songs and patterns as downloads for XL-7/PurePhatt
owners coded with the PurePhatt ID? Will there be an XL-7/MP-7 sysex
doc coming - I think the manual said check the Web site.
