Are you sequencing any external gear? That's so weird you're having
problems still with switching patterns! I tried your example with the PC
commands, and shorter decay and release times, and even with 16 busy
tracks playing back at once the change was totally smooth. Are you
recording your parts with an external keyboard controller? Maybe you've
got a ton of aftertouch recorded that you didn't realize?
Just for the hell of it (what have you got to lose?) Trying Erasing all CC
and Aftertouch (channel and poly) from all your tracks and see if that
helps. If not, send me a copy of the pattern to look at, ok?

This realy gets my goat due to the fact that it seems that when I
have a pattern with a combination of 1. a preset with a very short
decay and release time. 2. a program change. The presets with
short decay get a longer decay for a second when i press the
home/enter button. This in some cases is the leed sound and all the
hi hats that i am using to drive the track i am wrighting making it
unrecordable for selling it!
