Re: Just got an XL-7 recently & it's already fried?!

Thanks for the replies. I'll check on the repair resource.

The ROMs that worked okay were the include Xtreme Lead and the Techno ROM. The new ROMs I was trying to add were Composer, which seemed to work okay and a 9090 Orbit ROM which gave me an error message about having two ROMs with the same ID, or something like that.

I think were I probably screwed up -- besides not understanding how to easily install the ROM cards, was that I probably left the AC power plugged in and turned on at some point, by mistake, because I was testing each ROM in different sockets to troubleshoot why they weren't all working when installed at the same time.

I really, really want this thing to work for an upcoming live theater production I'm involved with. So I went ahead and bought another XL-7 from eBay. That will give me some time to get this one fixed, if possible, then I'll keep it as a backup or re-sell it. The one I just bought already has the operating system upgraded. So, I won't have to mess with that.

Ouch! That was an expensive goof!
