Re: Is there a way to send sysex data of your songs and patterns without eLoader?

2012-02-13 by steve_the_composer

I think there is, but I would have to check the sysex manual. I believe e-loader uses sysex commands to request the sequences. If I am right, you would have to have software (such as a sequencer) to request each sequence and then capture the sysex data the CS sends. Its been years since I looked at the sysex dump format for seqeuences. Too bad you can't use e-loader; that would be much quicker.

If you are looking for a front panel menu item to dump all sequences, I don't ever recall seeing that.

BTW, if its not in the sysex manual, but its an undocumented command, someone might be able to decode a dump.

Hope this helps.

All I want to do is back up my songs and patterns because my command station has been acting quirky lately. I only use the CS to sequence, and don't have any reason to backup presets.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
