Re: [xl7] So many midi sources so little input jacks

Mateo,

get an Ensoniq KMX-8 8x8 midi router. They are pretty cheap when you can find them on Craigslist or Ebay. Or Midiman made dedicated hardware units also. It's really what you need since you have lots of stuff to connect. All todays units have USB and Firewire that are stocked at music stores. But you kinda need something vintage that is a stand alone unit that is nothing but MIDI ins and outs.

Hello all!
I have a midi sampler with pads and fx (sp808) and 2 midi fx (kp3 and electrix warpfactory). I want to be able to play on the pads, and use the fx knobs and kaoss pad and have the command station record this via midi as sequence to play back into the fx and pads looped, quantized. Do I need a midi merger? Do I need to turn off rechannelize? I am having trouble wrapping my brain around the sequencer.
Previously I bought a mixer and now realize I totally don't need it because of the insert jacks...
Please forgive me if this is a rtfm question.
Thanks
Matt
