There are some characters available when naming things in the XL-7 that can not be translated to legal file names and vice versa. It looks like you tried to use some of them. For instance there is no ~ available in the XL-7, so if you name a file with that and try to send to and XL-7 it gets mapped to -> (actually a single character right pointing arrow that I can not even put into this e-mail). Similarly there are few weird characters on the XL-7, like the arrows and one that looks like a Y with an equals sign in it (I think it is a Japanese Yen symbol) that can't be translated to a valid file name character when trying to upload the sequence to a computer. E-Loader attempts to re-map illegal characters, but apparently it isn't perfect in this regard (though I still don't think I would call this a 'Drastic' bug). That handling can be resolved better in a future release. But in doing so, the best it is ever going to do is convert the illegal character to some other legal one, so it is not going to be what you originally set it to. (E-Loader currently maps bad characters to an underscore). My suggestion is that you simply stay away from naming things with characters that can't translate from one system to the other. It may be more 'expressive' to use all the characters, but it is at odds with cross-platform compatibility. Scott
