No, both of them controls everything.
command station 1: XL7:
I sent MIDI notes and tweaks to a Waldorf Micro Q module.
I sent MIDI notes to a roland V synth.
Send MIDI sync tempo, THRU the Waldorf to a Electribe ESX1
Send MIDI sync tempo, THRU the V Synth to a Yamaha EX5.
Command station 2 MP7
Send MIDI notes to a Roland SP 808ex sampler (these notes are not scales but sample triggers)
Send MIDI notes to a Yamaha SY 99
Send MIDI sync tempo to a Dave Smith's Evolver using THRU of the SP808
Send MIDI sync tyempo to an Akai Ax 60 analog synth.
What is hard to me, is to sync both command stations. I use patches from them, from any kind, basses, hi hats, a few pads, lots of percs comes from the command stations.
Since I have a wide variety of instruments, I need big organizers inside them. Most uncomfortable issue for me on this situations, is the patch saving options of the command stations: with 6 roms, I am plenty of options for creating user patches, and I'm a strong orrientation to sound design and programmation. But the only way to store patches, is using another synth with a sequencer that can record SYSEX. So, I have the patterns here, and the patches, there....
Such a mess of patterns and patches, after 5-6 years using two command stations....
