I have a Windows 98 PC nearby. I will try to test Beta 0.37 on it some time today. The test will probably be with the built-in sound card's midi port. (I know I have a few joystick/MIDI cables here someplace.) I believe its still (or mostly) a 1999 vintage Aptiva, probably with the original sound card drivers. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Jane <rdxesy@...> wrote: > > > On 15.07.2009, at 02:22, MadjacK wrote: > > > I've been trying to get this program to work on windows 98 but am > > not having any luck. > > I can get it to connect and upload the info/roms etc. but when > > clicking on the instrument list it say prodatum has caused an error > > and needs to be closed. > > Again it only happens when selecting from the instrument list so I > > thought I'd let you know. > > > > Maybe you have some idea of how to over come this? > > Thanks for all the great work. > > > > maybe it's a driver thing. you should use the drivers for your MIDI > hardware. don't use the windows drivers. > > if drivers do not fix it i would need more information. please set > "Debug" to "Most" (in Open Device) and provoke a crash, open > debuglog.txt from the prodatum_out folder, scroll to the end, and send > me the last 20 lines from it. > btw, i haven't tested prodatum on win 98 yet. it should work though... > > Jan >
