I agree with you on that,I use a road ready case.I recommend you do this if you plan to carry your unit around.

Tomorrow the landlady has the carpet cleaners in, so I'm doing my annual packing up of my rig to accommodate her.

And as I put away my XL-7 for a brief stint in the closet, I'm reminded of the stupidest design bit in the whole accessory line: The carrying bag.

For those of you who haven't seen it, it's your basic soft pocketbook style thing with a large flap that covers the compartment and front of it. BUT! There's a handle loop that goes through a slot in that flap. So the protective purpose of the flap is trumped by this slot that would route any rain (for instance) RIGHT ONTO THE XL-7!

Now, since I don't carry the XL-7 around, this really isn't a problem for me, but it's such a STUPID design that I think E-mu and whoever they contracted for this bag should be yelled at at least once a year.

(If I did carry it around, I'd get a better bag or use one of my suitcases.)
