another MP-7 problem, lost instrument selection, once power is shut off.

Hello fellow Command Station users, I have been experiencing a timing
problem since day one. I can copy a pattern to the next open spot,
and when I go from one to the next, the start is out of time. If I do
not change patterns, and let just one pattern loop, it is in perfect
time. I have tried everything to stop this problem, nothing makes it
work. I decided to use the MP-7 as a tone generator instead, slaved
to a rock solid sequencer in a Roland MC-909. I built a pattern in
the MP-7 with no sequencer info, just patch selections for the
corresponding midi tracks on the MC-909. I saved the choices each
time I finished a channel. I saved these sound selections 16 times on
this one pattern, to be sure they were there, I switched to a
different pattern, and played it, then switched back. They were still
there, so I was confident I could switch it off, after six hours of
work. So today I turn everything back on, and the sounds have not
been remembered by the MP-7. I saved it so often, I have to wonder,
WHAT is it saving when it says it's saved something? there was no
sequencer data, just sound selection, and it didn't save it. All I
have that it saved was the name I had given it.BIG DRAG.Why would a
Multisetup be needed to stop this, when I used an empty pattern to
start with? What is the point of such O.S. destuctive tendencies?
This purple box has fine sounds, but is crippled by an O.S. that
follows no logic.I have sequenced on Roland, Korg, Sequential, Quasi-
midi, and Yamaha gear for 26 years and have never had a problem. When
a programmer saves a pattern, the machine should SAVE THE PATTERN. I
am very frusrated with this not working correctly. Anyone who can
tell me how to do it so it works, would be like a friend indeed. I
have O.S. 2.0. and I have added the XL-1 rom, and the Orch-1 rom
(most of which shows sound names, but plays no sounds, another
drag). Thanks for listening to me moan like a JX-8P. ESW.
