Re: [xl7] Can use XL-7 NRPN messages?

Not really. Since NRPNs are just regular CC messages, you theoretically could assign three knobs to do it, but you really wouldn't want to.

For a quick tutorial on NRPNs, envision them like this: A NRPN is three different controller messages, two to specify what parameter (kinda like your house address), and one to actually change the value. You have to send "Bn 63 xx Bn 62 yy Bn 06 zz" where n is the channel, xx and yy are the two parameter numbers, and zz is the value. Note those are in hex. Decimal would be 99 and 98 for 63 & 62.

Bn = cc message
63 (99 decimal) = NRPN parameter select MSB
62 (98 decimal) = NRPN parameter select LSB
06 = Data entry

You'd have to set one knob up to control 99, one to control 98, and one to control 06. You'd have to pick the right parameter with the first two knobs, then use the data knob to control the value.

In essence?  Impossible.  Sorry!

You don't need to use the realtime controllers A, B etc. Those are for
use within the XL7 patches.
From the "controllers" menu, go to programmable knobs.
Set the "CTRL" field to be the midi CC you want to transmit.
Set the "Ch" to be the channel that the micron is receiving on.
And on the right side of the display, set to "ext" or "both".
Do the above for each knob you want to transmit.
