i had an early version of my drumkit welded up by a local company who usually deal with big road-going stuff, and they thought it was cool to be doing something different.

i hope so!!  *lol*  the protean's are 'ok' compared to the arsenal i already have but i'm looking forward to laying the 2 chips together, filter sweeps etc.  it'll be great for writing with the ibook...

i paid $240 for mine, which is a bit steep but cheaper than the $299 asking price for the protean chip!  i managed to get the near-perfect px7 for $410 inc shipping, so at the end of the day its not too bad really.

right, i need to go make some noise...
