Megamix is the one feature that I miss the most from the mc505. It made
transitioning from one pattern to the next in a live situation so smooth
and seemless. On the XL-7, it's Pattern 1...BAM...Pattern 2, no smooth
transitioning without a lot of pre-programming, which kills any set
improvisation. A really cool feature for sure, but I don't see how Emu
could incorporate it into the XX-7's. RPS's would help, but...

As a long time user of the 505, I have to chime in with my favorable
opinion of both the pattern call and the megamix features. For
jumping around and testing transitions, this is very nice way to go.
The megamix is a good way to combine stuff from other patterns and
see what might go together (of course having the ability to transpose
a single part in real time is helpful too).
