Im aware of the advantages, but its too heavy to move around... it doesnt 
work unplugged either! Is there any EMU firewire card? o maybe USB 2.0?

If it were me, I would be thinking shuttle-case computer - like the
Music PC -  with Emu 0404. 1212 or 1820 PCI/Breakout sound card system
installed. It will sound A LOT better than an M-Audio anything.

Pluses: more robust, modular, upgradable, greater flexibility with
keyboard and monitor placement, better quality monitoring, no
functional issues or minefields,  - killer audio quality

Minusus: a few more components - but not much more = a bit more setup
time perhaps

cost: about the same - or less if you build it yourself
