There is so much potential with the P2K synth engine. There have been several discusions here on designing your own presets using patchcords and other features of the synth engine. I encourage you to search the archives. Perhaps use the key word patchcords. If nothing is found, keep pressing Next 40 to search back. (Unfortunately, Yahoo searches in small chunks.) If you do this and you find stuff on preset design, I have a suggestion: If you cut and past the urls of the start of each thread into a simple text file, once you are done, you can copy the list to a post. If you give it a name like patchcords, preset design, snth engine, then it should be easier for other to find. It is kinda like having a running index. One of Aaron's posts on this subject was designing a preset (using patchcords) to simulate the pitches sliding down a bass guitar frett board (if I remember correctly). When someone else wanted to use the automatic wah of a factory preset, I dissected the effect and wrote some tutorials on how to do this and how to create other effects. Unfortunately, I think, most people think of effects as the global FXA/FXB processor. However, you can create all kinds of synth engine effects using patchcords. Using oscillators for automatic vibrato, tremolo, wah, etc. are simple effects. You can also use layers to create key, velocity, realtime CC, etc. crossfades/switches. I suggest stretching your creativity by selecting one ROM Instrument [aka sample, waveform] on one layer, giving it a volume envelope, then gowing through each of the patchcords [using MidiA knob or an oscillator, for example] to see what each does. I think rEalm may have been put off by your comment about not wanting to search the archives. (Maybe not.) Hence, the flip response. Hope this helps. --Steve steve: hey, no offence taken bro. i just remember a bit back printing out some of realms tips and couldnt find them and didnt want to hunt the yahoo xl-7 archives. but i will cause i remember creating some badass sounds.. tx...i'm going to give the files a hunt and have at.. plastic [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
