Re: [xl7] Re: automation weirdness since i installed a new rom

2004-07-21 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

thanks for the reply eric. will see what i can do tonight. i've had the
px-7 for about two months and it hasn't given me any problems until i
installed the xl1 rom.

>>>Definitely sounds like the ROM's not seated right then. <<<

when it froze up on the save screen, i let it go for about 5 minutes
before i turned it off. when i turned it back on i received a message
stating that there was an error and something about needing to restore.

>>>Well, after you recheck all the connections, I think you should do a
factory reset anyway, just in case (or reload the OS, same thing). Check
the FAQ if you need instructions on this. <<<

after this is when all of the patterns (user and demo)/presets (only user)
were erased. all of the roms still appear in the menu and everything
appears to be working as it should, sans the missing data.

>>>There's more than one type of factory restore, and one of them does
indeed erase all of the User data. I've never heard of this happening
automatically, but that might explain it. I think Aaron (the OS designer)
is at NAMM this week, but when he gets back he can probably shed some more
light on this one. <<<
