This happened to me, and it was pretty infuriating at the time. As best as I can make out, whenever the XX-7 gets to the "END" step in song mode, it reverts all channel assigns to "INT". The only way to fix it is to either revert to saved (either in song or pattern mode) or load a new song. When you're jumping back and forth between song and pattern mode (say, because you're recording or working out a song in your rehearsal space, ahem) it can be a real pain in the ass to have to keep doing this. Another option is to make a "false ending" to the song, by muting all the tracks and making the length of the muted step really long. While this avoids the "END" step, you also lose the ability to see in the display that the end of the song is coming up. So yes, I regard this as a bug, since there doesn't seem to be any "feature" advantage to this behavior - the *correct* thing to do is to simply leave the track assigns as-is. There is a workaround which is a relatively minor annoyance once you know about it, but if there's ever an OS update it would be nice if this were fixed. On a side note, I locked up my OS2.0 XL-7 the other day. Basically, once you save an edited pattern to a new location, make sure you switch to that new pattern location (to clear the pattern edit buffer, which still contains the old pattern number) before you start using XMIX... --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "Alan Wrightson" <sapalan@h...> wrote: > Does anyone else using the xx7 to control both an external synth > (p2k) and using internal sounds on the same pattern have this > problem?: Channel assignments are beforehand allegedly saved along > with the Pattern.
