I don't know a lot about E-MU, but from my understanding, they only introduced the Command Station line in 2001, right? Why would a company discontinue an entire line of products after only 3 years of development/availability. >>>Shortly after the Command Stations came out, Emu's parent company Creative Labs (yes, the people that make soundblasters) laid off nearly all of their Musical Instruments staff. <<< Are they planning on coming out with a newer type of Command Station for these new sound cards, or are they only going to be computer based? >>>None of us except Emu can say for certain what their plans are, but based on the way they've been slowly phasing out the hardware support for their older products, I would say that we won't see another XX-7, and that most of their ongoing effort in the future will be PC-based. Mind you, I'm not saying this is 100% the way it will be, as I have no hard facts guaranteeing this. I'm only offering my opinion ont he matter, nothing more. But, some thigns to keep in mind: - Just because Emu is (possibly) no longer making XX-7's, doesn't mean you shouldn't get one. They still work just the same as they did last year, and all warrenties will be honored still of course. - There's no huge outstanding bugs that need to be addressed before the machine does what it claims to. Yeah, there's a few things we may wish were better, but Aaron has already said he can still do OS updates regardless. Will it happen? Well... that's not for me to say. - Keep in mind that this isn't Emu's fault at all. It's the decisions of a parent company that's forcing them to do all of this. I know through past conversations with the MI engineers there that they had a LOT of cool ideas they were planning on going forward with. Sadly, it's not their choice anymore, it's all in Creative's court now. <<< rEalm The information transmitted is intended only for the person(s)or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or legally privileged material.
