I wrote the following as general thoughts on the MOTU interface. I am not sure your problem is an interface problem, though. I actually have a P-2500 with XL-1 rom and never use solo mode. So I can't really address that issue. Hope others who use solo mode can help. ======================================================== If this is the 8 x 8 midi router, I have the parallel port version running Windows98SE and cakewalk software (pre-sonar). I recommend: (1) go to the motu site (for help, latest drivers, etc.) (2) if you don't find your answer there either e-mail or call (non- toll free). I have gotten excellent help from those two sources on MOTU related issues. ========> BUT FIRST: Based on Windows98SE, I'd check Control Panel | Multimedia Properties | MIDI to make sure MIDI ports are showing up properly. Then check Multimendia Properties | Devices to make sure midi ports are there too (MXPXT: Ou1 1 - 8, All). NOTE: For some reason, MXPXT: Out 1 also contains all ports in the list. I am not sure if you will find this, if so, it does not seem to cause the problem you describe. NEXT: Use the appropriate MOTU utility for your computer/OS for configuring the interfeace presets to check what's going on. Hope this helps. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Wesley D <Serfiss@y...> wrote: > somebody help: I'm using a MOTU MIDI Express XT in my studio and for some reason solo mode seems to be having no effect on channels 2+. It happens when sequenced from the computer, and when I control it from my keyboard. Instead of the next note in the sequence sounding, the first one just rings out and you hear silence. So with overlapping notes in a sequence, I can only hear the first one. > > I'm thinking it's got something to do with my setup on the interface... hoping someone hear has had this problem and fixed it. > > Thanks, > > Wesley > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
