I'm using my new PX-7 primarily as a sound module--an upgrade from my Proteus 2000. I just like the idea of having the same synth with all the knobs and control goodies that don't fit on the face of a 1U rack module. BTW: I wanted to rack-mount mine, but that wouldn't have been ergonomic in my setup, so I put it on a retractable rack shelf BUT the platic endcheeks were too wide to retract the shelf...so I removed the endcheeks and made my own custom set of nice thin oak endcheeks. It instantly made the unit look like something from the 1970's (in a good way!)
