Re: Polyrhythms

2003-12-28 by S V G

However you look at it, the Command Station will only play back one loop at a time. Your
best bet for creating polyrhythms is to take the least common multiple as you surmised.

I have found it interesting that *all* of the preset patterns are in 4/4. I suppose this is
the dominant paradigm of today's music. Sometimes when I am practicing my guitar I like to have a
drum machine going on in the background, it's more interesting than a metronome. Does anyone know
if there's an easy way to delete one beat per measure to make a 4/4 pattern become a 3/4 pattern?
If not, I'll just have to write a few of my own... :)

Is it possible to simultaneously play back one loop of 4/4 and another
of 5/8 simultaneously using one command station?

My method will otherwise be to use the least common multiple for pattern
length.
