Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

The only way this can be theoretically reproduced, is to copy midi 
patterns into the XL-7 AND have it play back the sounds from your 
Triton as well...this can also be reversed, using common MIDI 
channels on both units, and setting one or the other as the 
sender/receiver accordingly.
I beleive what your asking is for the XL-7 to achieve some kind of 
sampling function, but it's not built that way (we're talking more 
along the RS-7000 vein here).

This can be an illusion to novice MIDI users (not that you are 
necessarily, but I'm using this example to make a point), that 
somehow the sounds have been transported to the unit doing the 
recording, but it helps to look at it as if the recording unit is 
playing the source unit via remote.

You are correct, so you would want whatever sound will be layered on 
the XL-7 with the sound on the Triton/N364, to be on these respective 
channels on each unit.
