Hello all,
Just wanted to say that I emailed Emagic regarding the
possibility of an editor for the XX-7 series for SoundDiver. They
said they had no current plans to write one. Major bad news...
I would be very willing to PAY! for a decent editor for these
machines (and an EOS sampler editor would be great, too...). These
are such incredible machines, but without an editor you are hamstrung
using them. Very frustrating. I would hazard a guess that sales of
these kinds of instruments would soar simply if a good editor were
made available. This is a major oversight in the marketing
area...
Somebody mentioned using the AN200 a while back and I have to
agree - I've got an AN1x and the editor makes it a joy to work with.
I do tweak it from the front panel a lot, but for the more complex
stuff, the editor takes all the pain away. Wake up E-mu - you NEED
to do this... You've got the sonic excellence - now you just need to
work on the user interface.
I am pretty disappointed with Emagic, I must say. To not
support these machines is criminal. However, they didn't say they
wouldn't do one - just that it wasn't on the agenda at this point in
time... So, maybe they will change their minds and make it a
priority... Would sure be nice... Maybe we all need to fire off
emails to them to help them make the decision ;) Squeaky wheels and
all...
