Re: [xl7] Housekeeping

2003-08-06 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

Hey I've been using my Mp-7 for some time now, problem is that im lazy
about housekeeping and everything is a total mess.

>>>Yeah, it is a lot nicer having everything set up all logically if you
ask me. Easier to find things and what not. <<<

I'd like to basically take all my patterns and presets off my command
station, rename the presets so that they are individual for each pattern,
save individual multis for each pattern, and put them back into my Mp-7 in
order.

>>>Sounds good so far. <<<

I would think this is what eloader is for but I cant find where it saves
presets. Seeing as there is no SoundDiver
support (bad blood between EMU & Emagic???) Am I stuck without a real
library program.

>>>Yep, there's no librarian for the XX-7's. You'll have to do it
manually on the XL-7 itself. :( Once you get into it, shouldn't take you
too long. I would HIGHLY recommend saving all o your current presets as a
sysex dump first though (use MIDIox if you don't have a sequencer). Just
in case you make a mistake or accidentally write over the wrong preset.<<<

Anyone else get frustrated with how long it takes to name something using
the Data wheel?

>>>No, I use the rubber pads to name things, it' much faster than the data
wheel once you ge the hang of it and start remembering which notes are
which letters. :) If you press Transpose up once, you'll get access to
most of the lower case letters, that's where I leave mine. <<<

Also has anyone had problems with the USB connection? I heard on another
forum that it doesnt always save faithfully.

>>>What forum? Never had a single issue with mine personally. <<<

Thanks in advance

>>>You're welcome after the fact.<<<
