I recently received a new Woggle Bug that Grant has modified,
adding a new, familiar feel.

The Rate knob is now a pull-switch, which, in essence, inserts a
noise source to fm the LFO, instead of the "woggle" circuit that
randomizes the LFO in the original unit.

hello to all -
will this modification become standard on new w`bugs? is it something grant will retrofit for a reasonable charge in existing units ?
best,
dave

Dave,

I have discussed with Grant the idea of having this mod done to my
older Woggle unit. He said that it is not a "field-retrofit kit" type
of modification, but if I send my other Woggle to him, he would
perform the update in the Wiard lair....

Perhaps this mod is subtle, but if you use the smooth output as a
pitch source, (as much as I do), I think that it has that thing that
the Buchla SOU did back when the nights where young and I wasn't as
concerned about how long I had to recover from what I was taking.
