For sale/ trade: Wiard, books, CDs
2003-07-02 by S. Kuehnl
Hi all, I need to sell a few things quickly. I'm in Germany, ship internationally, and accept Paypal and anything else as long as it's reasonably fast and the buyer pays the fees. Alternatively, I'll trade any of these things plus cash for a Wiard Mixolator, preferrably one with "triangles" faceplate. Please respond privately to "skuehnl at yahoo dot de". If you think a price is too high, please tell me so and let's bargain, but consider there's near zero turnaround time with me, whereas all of these items, if available new/ in stores, may take some weeks, or depending on where you live, may cause higher shipping costs. Here goes (all prices without shipping; if you're in Euro-land, use the official exchange rate): Two Wiard 1209B Joystick modules (http://www.wiard.com). Bought from Grant in October 2002, never used (just moved the sticks occasionally to keep them smooth - am I superstitious?), stored dust- and smoke-free: they're NEW. Cost $180 new; first to offer $168 takes them. (Or $85 for one, but only if I get both sold.) Joel Chadabe - "Electric Sound/ The Past And Promise Of Electronic Music" Softcover, ISBN 0-13-303231-0 Essential reading. Condition: as new as when I got it new from Amazon. $49. Max Mathews & John R. Pierce (editors) - "Current Directions In Computer Music Research" Softcover, ISBN 0-?62-63139-3 Condition: pages like new, cover pages have only very light shelf wear (even most "new" books get those through the way Amazon and Alibris ship), spine looks like slighty bleached from sunlight (this may be intentional, though?). $38. This is not a glossy synth history, but a hardcore geek book with 21 articles on various EM techniques, so here's some info: http://makeashorterlink.com/?I20063F15 http://makeashorterlink.com/?T2EF21E15 Especially owners of the Buchla barber poles should own the book, as it contains a thorough explanation of techniques for paradoxical sounds (aimed at MUSIC V as well as generally). All versions are out of print, but the CD with some terrific sound examples is still available from MIT Press. Akos Rozman - "Images of the Dream and Death". Double CD, all Buchla 200, academic EM from 1976 and recently. AFAIK, in the USA it's available by import only. $26 Diana Deutsch - "Musical Illusions and Paradoxes". CD, Philomel Records (http://www.philomel.com). THE guide for the topic. Comprehensive cover booklet. For Buchla barber pole owners, software geeks, openminded musicians and probably a host of students from phonetics to music to neurology. $13.50 (I know, it's $15 new - this offer is for non-US residents, for whom my shipping will be much cheaper than Philomel's) Also, various CDs from Aphex Twin to TaDream and about 150 very unserious Techno/ Electro/ IDM vinyls (mostly mid-90s) including some rarities; send me your want-list until I get them listed myself. Thanks, S. Kuehnl __________________________________________________________________ Gesendet von Yahoo! Mail - http://mail.yahoo.de Logos und Klingeltöne fürs Handy bei http://sms.yahoo.de
