I measured the time period of both the Buchla 280 and 284
modules. In normal operation, the Envelator extends an octave
above and below both of them.
High end - 280 and 284 = 350 Hz
Envelator = 690 Hz
Low end - 280 and 284 = 20 seconds
Envelator = 45 seconds
Also the Buchla system does not use any negative control
voltages, only 0 to 15 volts. The 256 CV mixer is clamped to not
go below 0 volts. I'm not clear how you got a negative voltage on
that instrument.
But the composer is always right!
So for those who need slower envelopes, I will figure out a
retrofit for the Envelator module. It will require 4 solder joints, but
can be done without removing the board.
